Conferences, Incentives and Meetings throughout Europe. VENICE WEEKEND Suggested Itinerary DAY ONE Travel to Venice. On arrival, join your private boat and Local Guide for the transfer into the city. Check in to your hotel, then join the group for a walking tour of St Mark's Square. You will see the Basilica, Doge's Palace, and some hidden corners of the city rarely seen by tourists. The rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner will be served in the hotel or at a nearby restaurant this evening. DAY TWO Buffet Breakfast is served in the hotel. Meeting-room facilities are available this morning(theatre-style set up, basic meeting package; catering facilities and specialist equipment can be provided if required, with an additional cost). The afternoon is at leisure for your own interests; or why not join one of our Walking Tours for a special insight to Venice? We can offer:- Venetian Palaces Visit some of the exquisite palaces along the Grand Canal. Some have been converted into museums, others are still family homes. Cannaregio and the Ghetto Cannaregio is a relatively unknown part of Venice, away from the normal tourist haunts. This walk will show you the Jewish Ghetto and you will hear the fascinating history of the Quarter, including its connections with Marco Polo. This evening, Dinner will be served in a prestigious local restaurant. DAY THREE Buffet Breakfast is served in the hotel. Join one of our sightseeing tours this morning; we offer:- Murano and Burano Visit one of the famed Venetian glassworks on the island of Murano this morning. The tour and demonstration will be followed by an opportunity to buy direct from the maker. Continue to charming Burano, the lace-makers' island, with its brightly-coloured houses and miniature canals. Secret Gardens of Venice Today's tour focusses on the history and tradition of Venetian gardens. Visit the water gardens of the Arsenale, symbol of the military power of the Venetian Republic. Continue to the Palazzo Contarini, with a charming courtyard dating back tot he 15th century. The tour concludes with visits to several private gardens. Time at leisure for lunch, before rejoining your private boat for the transfer to Venice Airport. |
