The inaugural East Midlands Education Showcase is scheduled to take place at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel on Sunday 14th September 2008 from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.. The Education Showcase is designed as a shop-window for independent, specialist and boarding schools, allowing parents to get to know a variety of schools and to make some preliminary decisions about which avenues are worth pursuing. Meet the school staff, take a few minutes to discuss what the school has to offer your child. If you're impressed, you can make an appointment to go to the school itself for a look around and to get a real feel for the place. If you're undecided, plan to visit the school on an Open Day instead; details will be available for all schools at the Showcase. The idea is to offer parents the chance to get an overview of as many schools as possible. The Showcase will save you the time it would take to visit all of the schools in person; instead, you can create a shortlist of places to consider for your child and then decide which to visit in person. Most schools hold their entry examinations early in the entry year, so the event will help to jump-start the search for the perfect school for your child. Admission is free; the Showcase takes place at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel, located near Junction 26 of the M1, where there is plenty of free parking available. Spend a couple of hours at the event on 14th September and save yourself days of effort later! |
