Conferences, Incentives and Meetings throughout Europe. FLORENCE WEEKEND Suggested Itinerary DAY ONE Travel to Pisa or Florence Airport. On arrival, join your private coach and Local Guide for the transfer into the city to check in to your centrally-located hotel. A short pause to freshen up, then join your Local Guide for a walking tour to see the highlights of central Florence; including views of the Cathedral, the famous Baptistery doors, the Piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio. This evening, a special Dinner will welcome you to the area. DAY TWO Buffet Breakfast is served in the hotel. Meeting-room facilities are available this morning(theatre-style set up, basic meeting package; catering facilities and specialist equipment can be provided if required, with an additional cost). The afternoon is at leisure for your own interests; or why not join one of our Walking Tours for a special insight to Florence? We can offer:- A Taste of Florence This walking tour will include a visit to the market, where you will see local speciality food. Continue on a tour of some of the city's leading food retailers, where you can taste local cheese, ham and biscotti. Highlight of the tour will be a tasting at a local wine merchant's store; the products of his own vineyards and olive-oil mills will be featured. Craftsmen's Florence This tour visits a local paper-maker, a leather workshop and a goldsmith; at each place you will see behind the scenes to understand the work that goes into these traditional crafts. This evening, Dinner will be served in a prestigious local restaurant. DAY THREE Buffet Breakfast is served in the hotel. Join one of our sightseeing tours this morning; we offer:- The Uffizi Museum This morning, a special treat; a visit to one of the world's finest collections of paintings at the Uffizi Gallery. An in-depth tour will provide fascinating insights to the art of the Sienese, Florentine, Venetian and Umbrian Schools. The Accademia Michelangelo's 'David' is one of the great art treasures of the world, and this tour of the Accademia will show you this magnificent statue, along with many other highlights. Time at leisure for lunch, before rejoining your private coach for the transfer to Florence or Pisa Airport. For those using Pisa Airport, depending on flight times, we may be able to offer a tour of Pisa itself:- Pisa Thoughts of Pisa's glorious past as a seafaring republic will come to you as you visit the most famous monuments; the Leaning Tower, the Baptistry and the Cathedral. Take time to visit the Cemetery with its frescoed walls, and the church of Santa Maria della Spina in the Pisan Gothic style. Continue to the airport to begin your homeward journey. Prices for this programme depend on dates of travel, size of group, and standard of accommodation. A longer or shorter programme can be arranged as required. |
