Massed Choir Workshop and Performance

accompanied by The Minster School Orchestra

Saturday 8th January 2011 9.00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m. Southwell, Nottinghamshire

Preliminary information is now availablefor our 2011 event.

It's a mixed programme of Classical and Modern Choral music, and we are delighted to welcome Mike Brewer of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain once again as our Guest Director, and Duncan Lloyd, Head of Music at The Minster School, who is in charge of the Orchestra.

The format of the Event will be much the same as before; a Workshop of sectionals and massed choir in the morning, and a Rehearsal in the afternoon of the Choir and Orchestra together.

The Concert will take place in the evening, beginning at 7.30 p.m.

One change from previous years is that the entire event will take place at the Minster School, as Southwell Minster is hosting an important exhibition in January, which means that most of the nave will be unavailable to us. We are grateful to the School for allowing us to use their lovely facilities...and it will of course be a little warmer than the Minster!

Prices for the day remain at their 2010 levels; £20 for adults, £12 for under-18s. We welcome individual singers as well as full choirs who wish to participate. If you haven't come along before, it's a fun day of singing and learning; a great way to blow away the post-Christmas blues!
